I was born in Pittsburgh, grew up in the suburbs of Cleveland, and went to college in Boston. But once I moved to New York to work in publishing I pretty much stayed. It’s a good place to live—work is here, dear friends, art, great food, theater–and books are for sale on sidewalk tables all over my neighborhood. What’s not to like.
In publishing I only occasionally edited mysteries but kept reading them. Voraciously. Each year brought new enthusiasms. My present mystery choices are wide-ranging – American action thrillers to English cozies, with diverse heroes and heroines from tough-guy P.I.s to paranormal cops. Not much noir, hard boiled or true crime. They give me bad dreams. These days I write books, freelance edit, and work as a Consultant and First reader for the Nancy Gallt Literary Agency–Mysteries.
